"Drummin' the Sun Down over Gitche-Gumee with a Drumweaver
Drum" In Len's words... "It is my intention to honor all cultures, tribes, and eras which the drums and other creations that have come through me may in some way be a part of. I have chosen to integrate materials of the present as well as the past with the understanding that all things come from nature. Those that are very far removed (plastics and modern glues), somewhat removed (metals and shaped stones, glass, crystals and more), are incorporated along with hide, wood, feathers etc., with appreciation of the energy that is inherent within them. Negative and positive are a matter of perception to me and I choose to be responsible for transmuting or, in some cases avoiding, those energies that I've not been in harmony with upon encountering them. I trust the drums, rattles and other creations I share with the world will ultimately find acceptance and bring forth meaningful experiences in the lives of those they impact upon. It has been an honor to have had many of the items I've created appreciated and/or purchased over the past decade. I look forward to continued co-creativity and sharing with the infinite universe." The name, Drumweaver came to Len Novak via a friend who observed his use of a loom like method in stringing some drum creations. Len currently lives and creates out of the Ramblin' Rose Arts Center If you are in the area please stop by. You'll find a map of the Keweenaw Peninsula on the "about us" page.
